Progress on Al Rawdah Economic Zone with DP World and OPAZ

Progress on Al Rawdah Economic Zone with DP World and OPAZ

Post by : Badri Ariffin

DP World welcomed a prominent delegation from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) to evaluate advancements on the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone and strategize for the next steps in its development.

Led by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, the Omani team engaged with Essa Kazim and Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan, accompanied by senior leadership at DP World GCC, including CEO Ahmed Yousef Al-Hassan.

The discussions took place in Dubai, followed by an on-site visit to the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone in the Wilayat of Mahdah, within Al Buraimi Governorate. They assessed the latest achievements and the current state of infrastructure development.

Essa Kazim emphasized that the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone is pivotal for attracting investments, bolstering industrial sectors, and enhancing regional supply chains. He noted that the ongoing collaboration between DP World and OPAZ demonstrates the robust partnership between the UAE and Oman, reflecting their joint endeavor to establish a premier economic zone.

Strategically located near the UAE-Oman border, the Al Rawdah Economic Zone will have direct access to key trade hubs like Sohar Port and Jebel Ali Port, facilitating logistics and trade.

This initiative aims to draw investments in various fields such as logistics, warehousing, light manufacturing, food production, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, plastics, mining, and industrial services.

Furthermore, the economic zone aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Oman Vision 2040, enhancing trade relations and economic collaboration between the two nations.
