Wang Yi met Anutin Charnvirakul in Bangkok to further strengthen relations and expand cooperation between China and Thailand. The meeting was held at Government House and reflected the growing importance of ties between the two nations in both security and economic areas. Leaders from both sides highlighted the need to build a stronger and more stable partnership for the future.
During the discussions, both countries agreed to increase cooperation in tackling transnational crime, especially cyberscams. These online scams have become a serious problem across Asia, affecting thousands of people and causing financial losses. Both governments see this issue as a major concern and are now planning to work more closely through information sharing, law enforcement coordination, and joint action.
Thailand expressed its appreciation for China’s continued support on global platforms and in regional matters. The Thai Prime Minister thanked China for its cooperation in economic and development areas, which has helped strengthen Thailand’s position in international affairs. In response, China congratulated the Prime Minister on continuing in office and expressed confidence that leadership stability will help deepen bilateral relations.
The leaders also discussed ways to upgrade their strategic partnership to a higher level. They agreed that cooperation should not be limited to just one or two sectors but should expand across trade, security, tourism, infrastructure, and regional development. Both sides showed interest in creating long-term plans that can bring real and visible benefits to their people.
Earlier during his visit, Wang Yi also held meetings with Thailand’s foreign affairs officials to continue discussions on important regional and international issues. His visit is part of a wider tour of Southeast Asia, where China is working to strengthen its diplomatic, economic, and security partnerships with countries in the region.
Economic relations between China and Thailand remain very strong. China is Thailand’s largest trading partner, and trade between the two countries continues to grow every year. Chinese companies are also increasing their investments in Thailand, especially in manufacturing and infrastructure, as they expand operations in Southeast Asia.
This growing economic cooperation is supported by strong political relations and regular high-level meetings. Both countries have shown a clear commitment to working together for mutual benefit, focusing on development, trade expansion, and regional stability.
Overall, the meeting highlights the deep trust and long-standing friendship between China and Thailand. It also shows their shared goal of working together to address modern challenges such as cybercrime while continuing to build stronger economic and strategic ties for the future.
