In response to escalating tensions in Lebanon, Canada has called for an immediate ceasefire alongside stronger protections for civilians. Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand highlighted the critical need to uphold international law and prioritize civilian safety in her recent statement.

The statement urged Israel to honor Lebanon's territorial integrity while also appealing to Hezbollah to disarm and comply with decisions established by the Lebanese government.
