Borouge and ROX Motor Drive UAE Automotive Innovation Together

Borouge and ROX Motor Drive UAE Automotive Innovation Together

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Borouge and ROX Motor have taken a significant step in advancing sustainable automotive manufacturing in the UAE through their latest collaboration. Borouge’s cutting-edge lightweight polyolefin materials are now part of 17 components in ROX Motor’s new flagship, the ADAMAS SUV. This move highlights the growing focus on local production and innovation under the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” initiative.

The use of Borouge’s polyolefin solutions contributes to reducing vehicle weight, which directly improves energy efficiency and supports recyclability—a key demand in today’s eco-conscious automotive industry. This partnership not only enhances the ADAMAS SUV’s performance but also reinforces the UAE’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing base by localizing production of high-tech automotive parts.

Earlier this year, Borouge and ROX Motor launched a joint innovation laboratory in Shanghai, aiming to push research and development in advanced lightweight materials. This lab plays a vital role in creating next-generation vehicle designs that prioritize sustainability without compromising on strength or luxury.

The integration of Borouge’s materials across multiple vehicle components in the ADAMAS SUV reflects the combined effort to bring innovative, environmentally friendly automotive solutions from the lab to the road. This collaboration aligns closely with national goals to boost in-country value and establish the UAE as a hub for advanced manufacturing and industrial growth.
