On the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council meetings in New York, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, engaged in discussions with Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Pablo Quirno.
The ministers explored the robust bilateral ties between Bahrain and Argentina and deliberated on avenues to deepen collaboration across diverse sectors. They underscored the necessity of fostering partnerships that yield benefits for both nations and their citizens.
Key regional developments were also on the agenda, including recent Iranian aggressions that target Bahrain, as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan. Both officials conveyed their apprehensions regarding escalating tensions and the potential ramifications for regional stability.
Furthermore, they discussed the ramifications of Iran’s actions regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the critical impact on global shipping routes and the international economy. This vital maritime corridor plays an essential role in global trade, making any interruptions a significant concern for the world.
Various topics of mutual significance were also addressed during their conversation, highlighting the commitment of both nations to engage in dialogue and tackle global and regional issues collaboratively.
Accompanying the ministers was Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, alongside senior officials such as Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Affairs Sector, and Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector, along with members of the minister’s delegation.
