The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Judo Tournament is on the horizon, bringing 14 thrilling competitions for both men and women from November 28 to 30. Coordinated by the UAE Judo Federation and supported by national sporting organizations, this championship, supervised by the International Judo Federation, assures an electrifying atmosphere and critical Olympic points for competitors.
Hosted at the Mubadala Arena over three days, morning elimination rounds will take place across three mats, culminating in evening finals that commence daily at 5:00 pm on a designated central mat. A total of 56 medals—14 gold, 14 silver, and 28 bronze—will be awarded, showcasing the event's grandeur and competitive spirit.
The men's category will consist of seven established weight groups: –60 kg, 66 kg, 73 kg, 81 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, and +100 kg. Likewise, the women will compete in categories that include –48 kg, 52 kg, 57 kg, 63 kg, 70 kg, 78 kg, and +78 kg, attracting elite athletes worldwide.
An official draw is set for Thursday at 2:00 pm via video conference, gathering top-ranked judokas and the UAE national squad as they prepare to finalize the matchups. With €154,000 in prize money and the potential for Olympic qualification points on the line, Abu Dhabi promises to host three days of riveting competition and extraordinary displays of skill.
