Aftab Shivdasani Clarifies Drug Allegations, Reflects on Career Progression

Aftab Shivdasani Clarifies Drug Allegations, Reflects on Career Progression

Post by : Meena Ariff

Aftab Shivdasani has decisively refuted the drug use rumors that have circulated since his early days in Hindi cinema. The 47-year-old actor, recognized for his roles in films such as Mr India and the Masti series, emphasized the significance of facts over hearsay.

In a candid interview, Aftab stated, “Truth is quiet. It does not need to announce itself.” Labeling the allegations as “the most amusing” he’s encountered, he reiterated his dedication to his craft over succumbing to controversy.

He also discussed how he is perceived in the industry and the challenges he has faced regarding his reputation. Reflecting on his enduring career that began with Mr India in 1987, Aftab remarked that the film world can be “brutal.” He recounted experiences with critics and rivals but noted that he has managed to keep a nuanced image. “While I had many detractors, I’ve forged a reputation that inspires neutrality; they may not like me, but they don't truly know me,” he added.

Since starting his journey at the age of nine, Aftab has experienced both the peaks and valleys of Bollywood. He believes that authenticity and dedication to one’s craft are essential for thriving in such a competitive environment.

Aftab is poised to feature in the upcoming installment of the adult humor series, Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri. The film also includes Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh, and aims to deliver the franchise’s trademark blend of comedy and drama.

With a career that has spanned over thirty years, Aftab remains a respected Bollywood figure, distinguished by his performances as well as his thoughtful perspective on fame, controversies, and personal integrity.
