The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), in collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, has introduced the “Entrepreneurial Families Initiative” in the Al Ain area, designed to aid families who wish to launch and expand their businesses.
This initiative aims to foster increased engagement of entrepreneurial families in Abu Dhabi’s economic landscape, aligning with the emirate’s vision to create a diversified, knowledge-driven economy focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.
As part of the program, numerous awareness workshops will be held at various sites in Al Ain. These workshops will provide participants with essential guidance on business setup, licensing procedures, and accessing available government support services within Abu Dhabi’s business landscape.
The initiative will be implemented through community channels in cooperation with Majalis Abu Dhabi, ensuring meaningful engagement with local communities and target demographics.
This program is part of ADDED’s broader commitment to bolster small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhance private sector involvement, and promote sustainable economic development by streamlining market entry and raising awareness of business regulations.
Participating in these workshops will also equip individuals with knowledge about the services and regulations governed by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, which operates under ADDED to oversee and advance the emirate's business sector.
Key themes covered in the workshops will include business registration processes, licensing needs, regulatory frameworks, and the various support services available to entrepreneurs.
Post-workshop, specialized training programs will be organized throughout the year in Al Ain, focusing on subjects such as e-commerce, financial management, and opportunities within the digital economy and priority sectors.
His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of ADDED, stated that the initiative demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s dedication to enhancing participation in economic growth while strengthening the emirate’s position as a competitive and future-ready economy.
He emphasized that the Al Ain Region plays a crucial role in the economic development initiatives of Abu Dhabi, noting that new business licenses issued in the area surged by 29 percent during 2025.
His Excellency Mohammed Alshaiba Al Sharyani, Acting Director General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, remarked that the initiative was initiated in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, and key e-commerce partners to equip communities with vital skills and entrepreneurial knowledge.
He added that the initiative is crafted to help participants leverage Abu Dhabi’s business-friendly environment while promoting inclusive economic growth, job creation, and productivity enhancements across the emirate.
