Le Minh Hung has officially appointed Don Tuan Phong as the Deputy Head of the Government Office, according to a newly signed decision dated April 8, 2026. The move marks a key administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening government operations.
Before this appointment, Don Tuan Phong served as Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on National Defense, Security, and Foreign Affairs. He has also played an active role in international parliamentary relations, including leadership positions in Vietnam-Germany and Vietnam-European Parliament friendship groups.
Born in 1970 in Hanoi, Phong brings strong academic and political credentials to the role. He holds a PhD in Economics, along with advanced qualifications in development planning and political theory. He has also served as a Member of Parliament across multiple terms, reflecting his long-standing involvement in governance.
The appointment is expected to enhance coordination within the Government Office and support policy implementation at the national level. Analysts view the move as part of Vietnam’s broader efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and leadership capacity.
