Vietnam has recorded a strong increase in international tourist arrivals, with over 6.7 million visitors in the first three months of 2026. According to official data, this marks a 12.4 percent rise compared to the same period in 2025, highlighting the country’s growing appeal as a global travel destination.
March 2026 alone saw more than 2 million international arrivals. While this was slightly lower than February figures, it still showed year-on-year growth. The majority of visitors came from countries such as China, South Korea, the United States, Japan, India, and Australia, reflecting a diverse and expanding tourist base.
Air travel remained the dominant mode of entry, accounting for the largest share of international arrivals, while land and sea routes also contributed to the overall numbers. In addition to foreign tourists, domestic tourism remained strong, with millions of local travelers boosting the sector.
Tourism revenue in the first quarter is estimated at around 267 trillion VND, indicating a significant contribution to the national economy. The continued rise in visitor numbers reflects Vietnam’s successful efforts in promoting tourism, improving infrastructure, and enhancing travel experiences.
