UAE Sends 21 Water Tankers to Gaza to Help 200,000 People

UAE Sends 21 Water Tankers to Gaza to Help 200,000 People

Post by : Rameen Ariff

The United Arab Emirates has delivered 21 water tankers to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in Gaza as part of its humanitarian initiative "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3". This operation aims to support Palestinians and provide immediate relief amid severe water shortages in the Gaza Strip.

Each water tanker carries 10 cubic metres of water, enabling the distribution of roughly 150,000 litres per trip. The 21 tankers are expected to serve about 200,000 people, ensuring access to clean and safe desalinated water across affected areas.

This mission follows the recent launch of a new pipeline last month. The pipeline transports desalinated water from the Emirati station in Al Arish directly to the Mawasi area in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. With a daily capacity of two million gallons, the pipeline benefits thousands of residents, ensuring steady water supply despite the ongoing crisis.

The UAE’s efforts in Gaza highlight its prominent humanitarian role in the region. Through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to providing aid and alleviating the suffering of Palestinians, reinforcing its long-standing humanitarian policy.

The operation has been widely appreciated for its timely response and for addressing the critical water needs of Gaza’s population, further strengthening ties between the UAE and the people of Palestine.
