The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) is proudly representing Emirati publishing at the renowned Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026, set to occur from April 13 to 16 in Bologna. This participation underscores EPA’s dedication to amplifying the global presence of UAE’s publishing industry.
Their involvement epitomizes a strategic move to forge international alliances, elevate the status of Arabic children’s literature, and position the UAE as a significant contender in the worldwide publishing sector.
As the foremost platform for children’s and young adult publishing, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair attracts top-tier publishers, authors, illustrators, translators, and experts from around the globe. It serves as a crucial venue for rights exchanges, collaborations, and insights into emerging trends within the industry.
EPA is showcasing an exclusive selection of Emirati publishing houses at the event. Notably, Alamkoum Publishing & Distribution, which specializes in interactive educational storytelling; Mimo Quirks, renowned for its imaginative visual narratives; and Ghaf Publishing, dedicated to fostering a reading culture with its high-quality local publications.
Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of EPA, conveyed that their presence at the fair aligns with a visionary goal to elevate the UAE’s publishing landscape while spotlighting the rich variety of local content on an international scale.
He further highlighted that the fair represents a golden opportunity for forging partnerships with leading global publishers and entities focused on children's literature, likely advancing cultural exchanges and enhancing competitive Arabic content.
Al Kous also remarked that participating in this event will provide critical insights into the future of the children’s publishing landscape, empowering Emirati publishers to embrace innovative and sustainable practices that cater to cultivating a new audience of readers.
Through its active participation, the Emirates Publishers Association is committed to reinforcing the publishing ecosystem, broadening the reach of Arabic literature, and solidifying the UAE’s role as a pivotal regional and global publishing hub.
