Trump Flaunts 24K Gold in Oval Office World Leaders Amazed

Trump Flaunts 24K Gold in Oval Office World Leaders Amazed

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Washington D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump shared a video on social media showing lavish gold decorations in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room at the White House. According to Trump, the decorations use "some of the highest quality 24 Karat Gold," and he claimed that visiting world leaders were astonished by the luxurious touches.

The video highlighted gold-colored wall mouldings that appeared ready for installation, with Trump writing that foreign leaders "freak out" when seeing the quality and beauty. He signed off the post with "President DJT" and described the office as "the best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and look."

The post sparked criticism online, with many questioning the timing. Critics argued that while Americans face serious challenges, including farmers losing land, people at risk of losing healthcare, and ongoing international conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, flaunting luxury decorations seemed insensitive.

During a March tour of the Oval Office, Trump had previously explained that the space "needed a little life" and that making gold paint appear like real gold was challenging. A White House spokesperson said that all gold decorations were personally purchased and paid for by Trump.

Observers noted that while some decorative elements are primed in white, the gold finish might be paint or gold leaf. One reporter pointed out that certain medallions resembled inexpensive foam decorations available online.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt earlier called the transformation "a golden office for the golden age for both America and the Middle East."
