Royal Thai Army has officially started the first week of training for its newest recruits at the new recruit training unit under Military District 210 in Nakhon Phanom. The training programme is designed to help young recruits gradually adjust physically and mentally as they prepare to become full-fledged soldiers in the Thai military.
Officials said the initial phase of training focuses on improving physical fitness, discipline and endurance among the recruits. The programme also includes unarmed combat techniques and basic military exercises aimed at building confidence, teamwork and readiness for future military responsibilities.
The training sessions are being conducted at Phra Yod Muang Khwang Camp located in Kuruku Subdistrict of Mueang District in Nakhon Phanom. Instructors and military trainers are closely supervising the recruits to ensure that all exercises are carried out safely and effectively during the adjustment period.
Military officials explained that the first week of training is important because it allows recruits’ bodies to gradually adapt to military routines and physical demands. Activities during this stage are carefully structured to improve stamina and prepare recruits for more intensive exercises in the coming weeks.
According to the Army Public Relations Center, instructors are monitoring the recruits closely to help them develop physical strength, discipline and confidence. The training also aims to shape the appearance and conduct of the young recruits so they represent the standards expected from new soldiers in the Thai armed forces.
The Thai military regularly conducts recruit training programmes across different regions of the country to prepare young personnel for national defence duties and emergency response operations. Such programmes are considered an important part of maintaining military readiness and strengthening discipline among service members.
Residents and local communities in Nakhon Phanom often witness military exercises and recruit activities because the province hosts important military facilities and training centres. The region plays a strategic role because of its location near Thailand’s northeastern border areas.
Military experts said modern recruit training not only focuses on combat readiness but also emphasises leadership, teamwork and physical wellness. Training methods have gradually evolved to ensure that recruits can adapt to both traditional military duties and modern operational requirements.
The Army Public Relations Center stated that training activities will continue in phases over the coming months as the recruits progress toward becoming fully trained soldiers. Officials expressed confidence that the programme will help strengthen the capabilities and professionalism of Thailand’s future military personnel.
