Sharjah Council Greenlights 2026 Budget Proposal

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired the Executive Council's routine meeting on Tuesday morning at the Ruler's Office.

Present at the gathering were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman of the Council.

During the meeting, the Council approved the 2026 general budget draft for Sharjah's government departments and entities. This proposed budget evidences the administration's ongoing dedication to enhancing institutional performance, optimizing public expenditure efficiency, and elevating the quality of services offered to the community.

The draft lays out anticipated revenues and expenditures across significant government sectors, prioritizing effective planning, quantifiable performance metrics, and sustainable financial governance. It aims to back development objectives while ensuring that resources are utilized for initiatives that substantially benefit Sharjah's citizens, residents, and visitors.

Additionally, the Executive Council decided to submit the draft budget to the Sharjah Consultative Council for further discussion, as part of the legislative framework before receiving final approval.

The Council also conducted a review of the government departments' and entities' performances throughout 2025. This review evaluated achievements against strategic objectives and assessed future plans and priorities for 2026, with the aim of fostering ongoing improvement in public services and aligning upcoming programs with Sharjah's developmental aspirations and community needs.
