The Saudi delegation made a remarkable impact on the first day of the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games, achieving a total of eight medals. Securing one gold, five silver, and two bronze medals on Wednesday, the team kicked off the championship on a high note. The 5th edition of the AYPG commenced at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, attended by dignitaries including Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, and Majid Rashed, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, were also present, along with a number of Asian officials.

Saudi swimmers shined brightly at the Hamdan Sports Complex, where Hussein Al-Rashed clinched a gold and a bronze medal, while Ibrahim Al-Marzouki contributed three additional medals. In the junior segment, Abdulrahman Asiri earned a silver medal, showcasing formidable talent in the swimming arena. The weightlifting category also saw success with Fajr Al-Smry and Talal Al-Balawi bringing home two silver medals, indicating the growing capabilities of Saudi athletes in para sports.

During the ceremony, track and field athletes Al-Baraa Al-Qarni and Motairah Al-Shammari proudly carried the Saudi flag. This prestigious event unites participants from 35 Asian nations and showcases cultural performances that honor the legacy of Paralympic sports, including traditional Emirati folkloric displays.
