Sharjah has launched an extensive housing and infrastructure project in Mahdhab Suburb, promising to significantly increase the pace of development compared to previous efforts. Over 6,000 plots have been earmarked for residential purposes, with 2,000 units already constructed and handed over to families.
Currently, 2,000 additional homes are being built, paired with key infrastructure improvements like major roads linking Al Shanouf, Nazwa, and the Emirates Road. The area will also boast modern nurseries, schools, and essential services. Nursery locations have been wisely selected to facilitate access and minimize disruption for parents, with sufficient parking available. Plans for government schools are also in the works.
The majority of Mahdhab’s inhabitants are young families. To support future generations, around one-third of the parcels—approximately 2,000—are being designated for the children of existing residents, based on a successful initiative in Al Zubair.
The fertile land and abundant groundwater resources of Mahdhab are being touted as significant advantages, with numerous channels facilitating irrigation for residents to sustain abundant greenery and crops.
Community unity is a core focus, with residents encouraged to report any issues, ensuring prompt resolutions. Special care is being taken with homes that are divided into multiple units to prevent conflicts and promote family harmony.
Further initiatives include land-leveling tasks and social support schemes, ensuring beneficiaries know that progress is being made to secure their housing stability. Additionally, employment opportunities are being improved by reviewing personnel performance to create jobs for eligible candidates.
Mahdhab Suburb is on track to become a fully developed, family-centric community, integrating contemporary infrastructure with natural resources and robust social assistance.
