Authorities in Toronto, Canada, are investigating the tragic death of 30-year-old Himanshi Khurana, which has been classified as a homicide attributed to intimate partner violence. A nationwide warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old male suspect, Abdul Ghafoori, in connection with this case.
The police received a report regarding a missing woman around 10:40 pm on Friday night in the vicinity of Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West, prompting an immediate search effort.
Sadly, at approximately 6:30 am on Saturday, investigators discovered her body within a residential location. The Homicide Unit has since taken control of the investigation to seek justice for Khurana.
Khurana, originally from India, was reportedly acquainted with Ghafoori, indicating they had an intimate relationship. Authorities have released images of both individuals, appealing to the public for assistance in locating the suspect.
Police emphasize the importance of community support for any leads regarding Ghafoori's whereabouts, urging anyone with information to come forward.
In response, the Indian Consulate in Toronto has expressed profound sorrow over the incident and is collaborating closely with local law enforcement to offer their full support to Khurana’s grieving family.
