Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to further strengthen strategic cooperation in the management of Haj and umrah affairs, aiming to enhance the overall experience and services provided to pilgrims. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to ensure smoother operations and higher standards for worshippers travelling to the holy cities.
Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), said the matter was discussed during a meeting with Tawfiq Fawzan Al-Rabiah. The engagement underscores both countries’ commitment to improving coordination and service delivery for Malaysian pilgrims.
The meeting took place at the King Salman International Convention Centre in conjunction with the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2026. It provided a platform to explore new opportunities, share expertise, and strengthen bilateral relations in religious tourism management.
Zulkifli noted that the collaboration would help raise service quality and benefit the Muslim community, particularly Malaysians performing Haj and umrah. He also expressed hope that the strengthened partnership would bring long-term positive outcomes and ease pilgrimage arrangements for future travellers.
