Malaysia and Pakistan foreign ministers have jointly called for de‑escalation in the West Asia conflict and stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as a means to address ongoing regional tensions.
In a telephone conversation, Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar discussed the conflict in West Asia and matters of mutual interest, emphasizing the need for restraint and diplomatic efforts rather than military escalation.
The leaders highlighted that ongoing discussions and continued communication between nations are key to preventing further regional instability and conflict spillover. Both officials reaffirmed their focus on peaceful solutions and maintaining strong diplomatic engagement amidst the complex geopolitical situation.
The discussion builds on earlier regional diplomatic moves, including support by Malaysia and Pakistan for efforts to host talks between major stakeholders, aimed at creating conditions for meaningful negotiations and a sustainable peace process.
Malaysia’s foreign policy has traditionally upheld peaceful coexistence, neutrality, and engagement with global partners to support stability, and Pakistan has also sought to play a role as a mediator, offering to host talks to facilitate dialogue among conflicting parties.
Both ministers stressed that diplomatic avenues, sustained cooperation, and international dialogue are essential to resolve the West Asia conflict and reduce ongoing tensions affecting global peace and security.
