M42, a global leader in health innovation through AI, technology, and genomics, has officially opened Amana Healthcare Bahrain, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. This new facility in Al Jasra marks M42’s inaugural hospital in the Kingdom, highlighting a significant development in its regional growth aimed at enhancing healthcare quality and patient outcomes.
In collaboration with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund, Amana Healthcare stands as Bahrain's first dedicated long-term care and rehabilitation hospital. The facility focuses on post-acute recovery services, enabling acute-care hospitals to concentrate on essential medical and surgical treatments.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, remarked that this hospital bolsters Bahrain’s healthcare ecosystem while underscoring the significance of public-private partnerships for local community enhancements. Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group CEO of M42, noted that this facility broadens access to specialized, patient-centric healthcare services across the GCC.
Covering over 15,000 square meters, the hospital boasts more than 100 beds dedicated to long-term care and rehabilitation. It operates with a dedicated team of 250 clinicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff, contributing to job creation and training opportunities for Bahraini talent.
Dr. Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, CEO of M42 Bahrain, stated that Amana Healthcare Bahrain advances world-class services to patients, bolsters national healthcare capacity, and fosters continuity of care for complex and prolonged conditions. He highlighted that this facility represents a foundational step in M42’s strategy for knowledge transfer and improving healthcare sustainability.
The hospital forms part of M42’s broader investment strategy aimed at enhancing specialist care services and nurturing clinical skill sets in the region. Its goal is to fortify care pathways and encourage healthier communities throughout the GCC, in line with M42’s long-term vision for healthcare growth in the region.
