Israeli Farmers Support Trump Ahead of Nobel Peace Prize Announcement

Israeli Farmers Support Trump Ahead of Nobel Peace Prize Announcement

Post by : Rameen Ariff

US President Donald Trump has received a unique show of support from Israeli farmers ahead of the Nobel Peace Prize announcement. In a remarkable tribute, a group of Yom Kippur War veterans used tractors to plough the words “Nobel 4 Trump” across farmland. A video of the tractors forming the message, posted on X, ends with an aerial view showcasing the full tribute.

The tribute comes shortly after Trump helped broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The agreement is part of the Gaza Peace Plan, revealed on September 29, aimed at ending hostilities, exchanging prisoners and hostages, and laying the groundwork for reconstruction and governance in Gaza.

Under the plan, both Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire, an Israeli troop withdrawal, and a prisoner exchange. The proposal also calls for Hamas to disarm and for Gaza to be governed by independent Palestinian leaders under international supervision. A multinational peacekeeping and reconstruction force is expected to oversee humanitarian aid and rebuilding efforts.

Israel approved the ceasefire agreement on October 9, following initial acceptance by Hamas on October 8. While the first phase focuses on stopping the fighting and exchanging prisoners, discussions on Gaza's political future are ongoing.

At a Cabinet meeting, Trump celebrated the ceasefire as a significant achievement in his peace record. He stated, “We settled seven wars, or major conflicts, and this is number eight.” Trump also referenced earlier claims from his September 23 speech at the United Nations General Assembly, highlighting his administration’s work in resolving conflicts involving countries like Cambodia, Thailand, Serbia, Congo, Rwanda, Pakistan, India, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

Trump has openly said he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, citing accomplishments such as the Abraham Accords and recent ceasefires. His administration has actively promoted his nomination, with endorsements from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Congressman Buddy Carter.

The tractor tribute by Israeli veterans symbolizes gratitude for Trump's efforts in mediating peace in the Middle East and highlights growing public attention to his foreign policy achievements.
