The incident took place in Arpora, a well-known village in the state’s tourist belt, where the late-night blaze tore through the crowded venue within minutes.
According to officials, the fire broke out during peak hours, leaving many people trapped inside before rescue teams could reach the spot. Local emergency services battled the flames and evacuated survivors, while medical teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. Six people are currently undergoing treatment and are said to be in stable condition.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and stated that a magisterial inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the fire and identify those responsible.
