The pivotal session of the Saudi Arabia-UK Strategic Dialogue on International Development and Humanitarian Aid wrapped up on Tuesday in London. This two-day event prioritized enhancing collaboration, sharing expertise, and tackling urgent global humanitarian issues.
Dr. Ziad Memish, Senior Advisor for Medical and Humanitarian Research at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), underscored the significance of the partnership between Saudi Arabia and the UK. He indicated that this collaboration is crucial for achieving meaningful humanitarian results and elevating development outcomes globally.
Discussions held during the session reviewed current initiatives and sought actionable improvements for efficiency and effectiveness. The conversation highlighted the necessity for innovative, sustainable solutions to urgent needs. Dr. Memish pointed out that uniting the UK's extensive experience with Saudi Arabia's comprehensive humanitarian initiatives can yield significant advantages for affected communities.
Involvement from representatives of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), and KSrelief illustrated the Kingdom’s dedication to international development and humanitarian efforts. Dr. Memish reiterated that this session marks the beginning of a deeper collaboration. He emphasized the need to build upon current achievements to maximize impact in humanitarian and development domains. This strategic dialogue also aimed at strengthening international alliances and initiating new projects.
