A shocking incident has been reported from a flight traveling from Malaga, Spain, to London Gatwick. A British family has been accused of bringing their 89-year-old grandmother onto an EasyJet flight, even though some passengers believe she had already died before take-off.
The EasyJet flight incident happened on December 18, 2025. The family, made up of five relatives, arrived at the airport with the elderly woman in a wheelchair. They told airline staff that she was tired and unwell.
Passengers on the flight said the woman looked completely still and was slumped in the wheelchair. Some people on board later shared on social media that a doctor who was also a passenger checked the woman and said she was already dead.
Despite concerns, airport staff allowed the woman to board the plane. The airline later said she had a valid medical certificate, which said she was fit to fly.
While the plane was getting ready to take off, cabin crew noticed something was wrong. They checked the woman and soon realized she had passed away. The plane was then taken back to the terminal.
Emergency workers came on board and confirmed that the woman was dead. The flight was delayed for about 12 hours, upsetting many passengers.
Many people shared their anger and shock online. One passenger said airline staff should never have allowed the woman onto the plane. Another passenger wrote that someone was holding her head up as she was taken to her seat.
However, some passengers also asked others to show respect for the woman and her family, calling the situation very painful for everyone involved, including the flight crew.
Authorities in Spain said officers were called because of the woman’s condition. They confirmed she was declared dead on the aircraft. They also said she was allowed to fly because she had a medical paper and was being supported during travel.
The airline said the woman was alive when she boarded the plane and that the flight returned after a passenger needed urgent medical help. The airline added that they are supporting the family and thanked passengers for their patience.
The family involved has not yet responded to the claims.
This EasyJet flight incident has raised serious questions about medical checks before flights and how such situations are handled at airports.
