Sheikh Hamdan Honors Dubai Civil Defence for Rapid Fire Response

Post by : Meena Ariff

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, recently met with a team of Dubai Civil Defence officers. This meeting was held to recognize their outstanding efforts in controlling a fire that broke out in a building in Dubai. The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defence.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed his appreciation and admiration for the team’s dedication, skill, and fast response during the fire incident. The Crown Prince highlighted how the team successfully brought the fire under control in record time, thanks to their advanced firefighting equipment and thorough training.

Commending Skill and Readiness

During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan praised the readiness of Dubai Civil Defence, pointing out that the officers are always prepared to face emergencies at any time. He said that the professionalism and advanced training of the team allow them to operate the most modern and sophisticated firefighting equipment efficiently.

“The team’s quick action and dedication demonstrate their commitment to protecting lives and property,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “Their efforts play a vital role in keeping Dubai one of the safest cities in the world.”

He also encouraged the officers to continue their training and to remain vigilant, highlighting that such readiness is crucial in handling emergencies and saving lives.

Leadership and Support Inspire Civil Defence

Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi thanked Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support, saying that the encouragement from Dubai’s leadership motivates all members of Dubai Civil Defence to perform their duties with excellence.

He also emphasized that the team is committed to improving their skills, learning new firefighting techniques, and modernizing their equipment. According to him, this commitment aligns with the vision of Dubai’s leaders to maintain the city as a safe and secure place for residents and visitors alike.

Lieutenant General Al Matrooshi said, “We are inspired every day by the guidance and support of our leaders. It encourages us to work harder, stay ready, and adopt the latest technology to serve the people of Dubai efficiently.”

Advanced Technology in Action

The meeting also highlighted the use of advanced technology by Dubai Civil Defence. Last week, the team successfully deployed ‘Shaheen’ drones to control a fire in a residential building located in Al Barsha. These drones are specially designed to tackle fires in tall buildings up to 200 meters in height.

The Shaheen drones carry a 1,200-litre tank that can hold water and firefighting foam. This allows them to provide quick aerial support in fighting fires, which is especially useful in high-rise buildings where reaching the fire from the ground can be difficult. The use of these drones played a key role in controlling the fire rapidly and safely, demonstrating how modern technology is being used to save lives and reduce damage.

Importance of Civil Defence in Dubai

Dubai Civil Defence plays a vital role in protecting the city and its residents. The officers are trained to respond to all kinds of emergencies, including fires, accidents, and natural disasters. Their training involves not only using firefighting equipment but also learning advanced techniques for rescue operations and emergency management.

Over the years, Dubai Civil Defence has invested in modern equipment, state-of-the-art vehicles, and innovative technologies like drones to improve its efficiency. The department works continuously to ensure that they are always ready to respond to emergencies and provide the highest level of safety to the public.

Continuous Training and Professionalism

Sheikh Hamdan’s visit also emphasized the importance of continuous training and skill development for the Civil Defence team. The officers undergo regular drills, simulations, and advanced training programs that prepare them for any emergency scenario.

Their professionalism is evident in the way they handle dangerous situations calmly and efficiently. The training also focuses on teamwork, coordination, and the use of the latest technology, which together enable them to manage large-scale emergencies successfully.

The Crown Prince highlighted that Dubai’s leaders believe in investing in people as much as technology. By developing the skills of the Civil Defence team and providing them with modern tools, Dubai ensures that the city remains safe for everyone.

Recognizing Efforts and Dedication

The meeting with Sheikh Hamdan was an opportunity to recognize the dedication and hard work of Dubai Civil Defence officers. Their efforts during the recent fire in Al Barsha were described as “exceptional” by the Crown Prince.

He praised the officers for their courage, efficiency, and determination to protect lives. By responding quickly and controlling the fire in record time, the team prevented further damage to the building and ensured the safety of its residents.

Lieutenant General Al Matrooshi reaffirmed the commitment of Dubai Civil Defence to continue serving the city with dedication. He said that the department will keep improving its operations, training programs, and equipment to meet the high standards set by Dubai’s leadership.

Reinforcing Dubai’s Safety Standards

Dubai is known for its high safety standards and modern infrastructure. The city has invested heavily in emergency services, public safety, and disaster preparedness. The role of Dubai Civil Defence is central to maintaining these standards.

The department’s focus on modern equipment, advanced training, and rapid response ensures that residents can rely on the authorities during emergencies. Sheikh Hamdan’s meeting with the Civil Defence team reinforces the city’s commitment to protecting people and property.

The Crown Prince expressed his confidence that the team will continue to perform their duties with excellence and professionalism. He also encouraged them to keep innovating and adopting the latest technologies to enhance their firefighting capabilities.

Dubai Civil Defence continues to set an example for emergency services around the world. By combining skilled personnel, modern equipment, and innovative technology, the department ensures that Dubai remains a safe city for everyone.

Sheikh Hamdan’s visit and recognition of the Civil Defence team highlight the importance of leadership support, training, and dedication in maintaining high safety standards. The department’s use of drones, advanced firefighting equipment, and continuous training ensures that they are always prepared for emergencies, no matter how challenging.

Through such efforts, Dubai not only strengthens its emergency services but also inspires other cities globally to invest in safety, technology, and professional development for their emergency response teams.
