Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) on March 11, 2026, injuring four people — including one Indian national — as tensions in the Gulf region continue to escalate amid the ongoing Iran conflict, officials confirmed.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the incident resulted in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian citizen. Despite the impact of the drones, authorities said air traffic at the airport continues to operate normally, and no major damage to airport infrastructure has been reported.
The drone strike is part of a broader pattern of Iran‑linked attacks on infrastructure and transport networks across the Gulf, which have disrupted aviation and shipping and heightened security concerns in the region.
Regional airlines including Emirates and Etihad Airways have been operating at reduced capacity since the outbreak of hostilities, with some carriers temporarily suspending flights due to airspace threats and missile activity.
The incident reflects the widening impact of the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, which has seen drone and missile attacks on Gulf states and commercial shipping routes such as the Strait of Hormuz — a vital global energy corridor.
Authorities in the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have condemned the attacks, calling them dangerous escalations that threaten civilian lives, critical infrastructure, and regional stability.
