Delhi–Karnal Namo Bharat Project Work Begins

Delhi–Karnal Namo Bharat Project Work Begins

Post by : Shakul

India is preparing to expand its regional rapid transit network with the proposed Delhi–Karnal Namo Bharat corridor, marking another major step in improving connectivity across the National Capital Region. The project is expected to significantly enhance travel efficiency between Delhi and Haryana.

Following the successful operations on the Delhi–Meerut route, authorities are now moving forward with preparations for the new corridor. Preliminary work has already begun even before final approval from the central cabinet, indicating the urgency and importance of the project.

The planned corridor will span approximately 136 kilometers, with a major portion of the track designed as an elevated structure. This design is expected to reduce construction time and minimize disruptions in densely populated areas.

Officials have initiated the process of shifting essential utilities such as electricity and water lines along the route. This early groundwork is crucial to ensure smooth and timely execution once the project receives full clearance.

The corridor will feature two major metro interchanges, allowing seamless integration with existing urban transport systems. This is expected to improve last-mile connectivity and reduce travel time for daily commuters.

The project is being prepared by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation, which is responsible for implementing regional rapid transit systems across the NCR. The expansion aligns with broader plans to strengthen infrastructure and support economic growth in the region.

Once completed, the Delhi–Karnal Namo Bharat corridor is expected to transform regional mobility, offering faster, more reliable, and sustainable transportation options for millions of passengers.
