Recently held in Abu Dhabi, the EMS Conference 2025 attracted renowned emergency medical experts, practitioners, and innovators from around the world. This three-day event served as an engaging forum to highlight advanced practices, the latest technologies, and developments in ambulance service systems.
The closing ceremony underscored the commitment and expertise within the field, as Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, honored exemplary paramedics and teams for their invaluable contributions. Awards highlighted paramedics excelling in life-saving CPR efforts, those with the fastest response times in 2025, and individuals who stood out in fieldwork and emergency preparedness.
The conference also celebrated international collaboration and knowledge sharing. Speakers, the Scientific Committee, trainers, judges of the Ambulance Challenge, and the exhibition's organizers were acknowledged for their roles in fostering innovation.
One of the conference's major attractions was the inaugural Ambulance Challenge in the MENA region, featuring 12 international teams competing to showcase their emergency response skills. The UAE National Ambulance team took home first place, with Australia and Qatar following, marking a significant achievement in regional EMS training and collaboration.
Col Dr Maitha Mohammed Al Darei, Director of Ambulance Department and Chair of the Scientific Committee, played a key role in emphasizing the conference’s impact on promoting global knowledge exchange, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, and aligning protocols to improve the quality of emergency medical services. The event also highlighted the importance of frontline worker welfare, the integration of response agencies, and the development of national capabilities to bolster Abu Dhabi's position as a key player in global ambulance and emergency services.
As the conference wrapped up, a strong commitment to innovation, international collaboration, and life-saving excellence was reiterated, solidifying Abu Dhabi's vision for a more advanced, rapid, and effective emergency medical service system.
