In a significant move, Abu Dhabi has introduced a substantial AED55 billion public-private partnership (PPP) pipeline aimed at launching 24 essential infrastructure projects between 2026 and 2027. This initiative, a collaboration of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre, is designed to enhance the emirate’s long-term infrastructure growth while drawing investment from both domestic and international sources.
This ambitious programme is poised to create diverse opportunities for private sector participation in Abu Dhabi’s infrastructural expansion. The projects are anticipated to advance economic progress, attract global enterprises to set up operations in Abu Dhabi, and bolster local supply chains alongside industrial segments.
The newly announced pipeline encompasses projects across various areas, including transport, infrastructure, and social development.
Focusing on transport, Abu Dhabi aims to invest AED35 billion in developing 11 key road projects. This initiative will cover over 300 kilometers of newly constructed and upgraded roads, tunnels, intersections, and enhancements to the road network, all intended to better connectivity throughout the emirate.
An additional AED11 billion has been designated for five infrastructure initiatives, prioritizing dams, water storage systems, flood management solutions, stormwater network upgrades, and urban landscaping improvements to foster sustainability and enhance public utilities.
Furthermore, the social infrastructure sector will benefit from AED9 billion through eight dedicated projects, which include the establishment of sports facilities, specialized healthcare centers, educational institutions, and university campuses, aimed at enriching community services and promoting long-term livability in Abu Dhabi.
Officials emphasized that this new pipeline signifies the progression of Abu Dhabi’s strategic approach to infrastructure delivery, rooted in robust collaborations with the private sector and well-organized project planning.
This announcement precedes the upcoming Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit 2026, where the emirate is set to showcase its future infrastructure and development aspirations.
