Abu Dhabi is on the fast track to becoming a center for advanced mobility as ROX Motor, a global luxury new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, announces the opening of its regional headquarters in the emirate. This significant move was unveiled at DRIFTx, Abu Dhabi's premier exhibition for smart and sustainable mobility, marking a key moment in ROX Motor's expansion across the GCC.
The newly established headquarters, supported by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), will manage regional operations including sales, after-sales support, and the future localization of supply chains. This initiative is designed to help diversify Abu Dhabi's economy and promote growth within its automotive sector.
Recently, ROX Motor introduced its flagship all-terrain SUV, the ADAMAS, specifically tailored for the UAE and GCC markets. This launch emphasizes the increasing importance of Abu Dhabi as a testing ground for innovative automotive technologies and luxury vehicle offerings. The company intends to start with a core team focusing on essential operations before expanding into design, marketing, and R&D.
A central part of ROX Motor's regional strategy is fostering local talent. There are plans for recruitment drives and talent development initiatives that resonate with the UAE's overarching industrial and workforce objectives. Furthermore, R&D initiatives in Abu Dhabi will investigate the incorporation of Arabic large-language models into smart cockpit systems and autonomous driving technologies, positioning ROX Motor as one of the early adopters of such innovations in the area.
This strategic move by ROX Motor mirrors a broader trend of Abu Dhabi attracting global mobility innovators. By facilitating the establishment of regional operations, advancing R&D, and scaling manufacturing, the emirate is progressively crafting a competitive and sustainable automotive ecosystem, aligned with its vision for the industries of the future.
